In this age of globalization, it is one of the duties of universities to study how internationalization in its true sense should be accomplished. From this viewpoint, this paper discusses 3 crucial points of this question. (1) Demands of our society as to the internationalization in our universities, and the problems it involves as to its significance and utility (2) How to develop the ability of the students to communicate internationally (3) The utility of establishing international exchange system between the universities. The result is as follows: (1) We traced the growing awareness of the importance of international communication, especially among the universities of older foundation. We also pointed out the emergence of so called "International Universities" among the newly established universities. (2) We argued that we should provide the students with the study condition similar to the native people as much as possible in teaching a foreign language. (3) We proposed that in order to have better understanding and better communication, we should develop relationship between our universities and foreign universities, often found in sister-universities. We further argued that in order to achieve these goals, it is essential that the authorities and the executives of the universities should take the initiative and help the teachers to build the paradigm for international relationship. |
