Most of them are represented in 'Katakana (Japanese alphabet)'. Using 'katakana' is a convenient way to import foreign words into Japanese but some of the sounds in foreign languages are difficult to represent correctly. Among them 'a' sound as in apple and the difference between 'r' and 'l' are most difficult in representing in Japanese. In this paper we propose a new way of representing those sounds in Japanese. By using the new method we can represent foreign words more systematically and then we can imagine the original word more easily. Although there are many problems still unsolved, it is clear we should take a serious consideration about the systematic representation of foreign words for the development of our language., 11, KJ00004011213, P}, pages = {97--102}, title = {外来語の表記に関する諸問題}, volume = {8}, year = {2002}, yomi = {ヤマナ, トヨミ} }
