Ways of Geography Education to Promote Cross-cultural Understanding IV. Conclusion History-Social Science Curriculum is designed to include geographical content into history education; this way of study can get rid of the mind which views cultures from the standpoint of developmental extent, and can help students understand cultures relatively. And it was made clear that this way of study can correct the tendency to understand cultures stereotypically. And, six viewpoints of geography education are mentioned which are expected to promote cross-cultural understanding. For instance, many-sided inquiry into cultural phenomena is connected with flexible ways of consideration, and synthetic study on the status and changes of a cultural phenomenon stimulates the understanding of originality or value of the culture.
