Some children at the preschool, after that fire, showed several stress responses that they were afraid of fire unnaturally, and/or woke up at times in fear of the fire in the middle of the night, and so on. For those reasons, the parents of those children were worried about them so much and raised distrust of the preschool, which was considered as a threat of the safety to their children. I, therefore, offered mental health care to their parents and the teachers working at the preschool. I provided the parents with group counseling, and advised the teachers how to deal with those emotionally disturbed children. About a month after the fire incident, however, the children's regression behavior was getting weaker, and so were their parents' worries and anxieties. If a disaster or an accident should break out a preschool, it would be recommended that the support for the children including mental health care should be carried out in a smooth and prompt manner.
