Writer of this article assured that the competent channel of communication is approved sign language of the deaf. His mother, Sophia, had an important effect upon Edward's personality. She was a very good model of deaf persons for him. The real philosophy of Dr. Gallaudet, which recommended the speech, seems to be similar and close to the articulation method. However, that is not actually the case.
